Fans are still reeling from the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead, and now creator Robert Kirkman has chimed in on the controversy.
In the latest installment of The Walking Dead comic, Issue #154, Kirkman addressed the elephant-sized cliffhanger in the room with a statement in the letters column. Kirkman defends the decision by noting they took the Star Trek: The Next Generation route, by essentially making the finale the first installment in a two-parter. Which, sure, it certainly won’t be as infuriating when binge-watching. But that’s now how fans are watching.
He then goes on to apologize to the many fans who were thoroughly pissed off by that camera shift designed to not reveal who took the baseball bat to the head, but promised they have a plan in place and they’re working hard to pay it off in the Season 7 premiere. Well, here’s hoping.
