With Deadpool opening in less than a month, 20th Century Fox has finally pulled back the curtain for some of the first public screenings of the R-rated superhero romp. So, what’s the verdict?

Several random folks seem to have been at the screenings, which reportedly took place in New York and L.A., but one of the most high-profile attendees was Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. All of the initial reactions from the film were very positive, and Kirkman positively raved about it (“flawless” is a strong word, Robert). Of course, early screening reactions are often very positive by nature of it being an advance showing, so take that with a grain of salt.

But it does mean the film is probably, at least, not terrible. So that’s good news. Deadpool opens Feb. 12, so we’ll know soon enough.
