Some new set pics and footage have leaked out from the RoobCop reboot, showing off some action scenes and a major set piece in the works.

Judging by the bit we’ve seen here, it looks like director Jose Padilha will be bringing the action once this reimagining finally arrives. We also get a better look at that sleek new RoboCop outfit — which looks like a combo of a G.I. Joe exo-suit and the original RoboCop design, in a good way.

A reboot of the 1987 cult hit about a cop turned into a half-machine lawkeeper, the film stars Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as a scientist and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as a media mogul.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

A new set video also captured what looks to be the staging of a major police standoff, with RoboCop using his fancy robo-cycle to roll up on the incident.

The film opens Feb. 7, 2014.
