Though it also has a fair share of action, the latest trailer for José Padilha’s RoboCop reboot shows it ain’t easy waking up as an ass-kicking super ‘bot.

Focusing more on the effect the program will have on Alex Murphy’s (Joel Kinnaman) family once he takes on the mantle of RoboCop, this international cut includes a fair share of new footage and introduces some intriguing new subplots. It's an interesting question, as he tries to balance his home life with the cop stuff (not to mention the human stuff from the robo-parts).

The footage we’ve seen up to this point shows that Padilha may have found a way to nail the balance between B-movie and blockbuster, and this new trailer proves it will definitely have some heart in there as well.

The film opens Feb. 12, 2014, starring Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Michael Keaton and Jackie Earle Haley.
