Rocksteady co-founder confirms next game is not Superman

Sorry, video game fans. It looks like you’ll have to settle with an evil Superman for the foreseeable future.

Ever since the release of Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015, fans have been speculating what coming next from Rocksteady, the British developer that brought us the Arkham trilogy. According to ComingSoon, we now know that the speculation will continue. Unfortunately, we also know we can cross off one item from the wish list (arguably at the top of most people’s), and that’s Superman.

In this tweet sent out on November 30, Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill confirmed that while they are working hard on their next project, it won’t involve the Man of Steel. It would have been amazing to see what Rocksteady could have done with Superman. They took Batman and gave him a story that had legitimate stakes as well as a beginning, middle, and end. What would have a complete Superman story given us?

The other question on fans minds now is “What IS the game they are developing?” Is it another DC property, like Green Lantern? Alternatively, will we see an original game with new characters and stories? Thanks to the pedigree Rocksteady has established since 2009, we know it will be another game changer.
