Big news in the animation world today, as DreamWorks Animation Television just announced new series based on the two well-established franchises, with both debuting on Amazon Prime Video in 2018.
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, featuring everyone’s favorite goofball moose and flying squirrel duo, is expected to take flight May 11 in the U.S., U.K., Germany, India, and Japan. Whether they’re seeking rock stardom or lost treasure, Rocky (Tara Strong) and Bullwinkle (Brad Norman) won’t be able to avoid bumping snouts with the despicable Fearless Leader and his sinister super spies, Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale.
Check out the trailer above for the new series, executive produced by Scott Fellows (The Fairly OddParents, Big Time Rush) and Tiffany Ward, daughter of Jay Ward, who created the original series, which first aired in 1959.
And let's not forget about the most gifted Ursidae martial artist around, whose new series, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, kicks off in over 200 global territories later in 2018 (no exact date has been announced).
Stemming from Emmy Award-winning executive producers Mitch Watson and Elliott Owen (All Hail King Julien), as well as Lane Lueras (The Adventures of Puss in Boots), the new series finds Po — the star of three features films, three animated shorts, and a Nickelodeon television series — is indeed the master now, as he must lead a ragtag band of four panda kids who uncovered a mystical cave beneath Panda Village and accidentally absorbed the chi of the Four Constellations, ancient and powerful kung fu warriors. Alas, they didn't absorb any of the warriors' discipline. But when an evil force enters the realm, master and students must ... wait for it ... save the world!
