As Ahsoka Tano says in the Season 2 finale of Star Wars Rebels, "There's always a bit of truth in legends." Now it looks like Ron Howard is adding a little truth of his own to the Untitled Han Solo Movie. Specifically, Tag and Bink from Kevin Rubio's Star Wars: Tag & Bink comic series for Dark Horse Comics which wasn't part of official Star Wars canon. Until now.
Howard tweeted out this picture of himself with Han Solo co-writer Jon Kasdan and Rogue One's first assistant director Toby Hefferman as Tag Greenley and Bink Otuana respectively.
If you're unfamiliar with the adventures of Tag & Bink, think of them as the Star Wars equivalent of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern as portrayed in Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. Somehow, Tag & Bink intersected with every major character in both the Original and Prequel trilogies.
Now it seems they've wandered into the Han Solo movie. In Imperial uniforms no less.
Kevin Rubio's response popped up shortly after and his excitement prompted Jon Kasdan to hop in and declare his love for the comic series.
It just proves, once again, that Star Wars creators are fans just like the rest of us -- and gives hope to Legends fans hoping more of their favorites will make the transition from Legends to official canon.
