Rosario Dawson (Sin City) was recently out promoting her new movie Unstoppable, in which she appears alongside Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Denzel Washington, when she came out—in a big way—as a HUGE Trekkie.

During an interview with Collider, Dawson talked about being a big Star Trek fan, which she says shouldn't be a shock to anyone who follows her on Twitter.

The actress also apparently managed to keep the fact she was such a huge Trekkie a secret from her co-star Chris Pine until quite recently, revealing she called Pine "Kirk" behind his back during the filming of the movie. (We're sure he gets that a lot.)

Rosario Dawson also stressed how keen she is to appear in the next Star Trek movie: "I'm just trying to play it really cool," the actress said. "I love J.J. [Abrams]—I got a whole petition that's been going on on Twitter that I could maybe be in the next film. Like, just a Klingon, something, like anything at one point, [and] just go out there and say 'Kaplagh' or something; and then I'd be happy, I'd be very, very satisfied."

Though nothing is known yet about the plot (or the villains) for the upcoming sequel, which is due out in the summer of 2012, we definitely think Rosario would make for quite a sexy and awesome Klingon, or Vulcan, or even—and why not—Nurse Chapel.

What do you think? Would you like to see the actress in the next Star Trek movie? Any favorite character from the classic series you'd like to see her play?
