The last time we saw Colton Haynes on Arrow was two years ago in the Season 4 episode “Unchained” when Roy Harper/Arsenal was blackmailed by Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) dad into working for him. The popular former member of Team Arrow is finally set to return to Star City early next month for a short story arc, and a batch of images of Haynes’ return to the Arrowverse series has dropped.

Slated to air on March 8, the synopsis for the show’s 15th episode titled "Doppelganger" reads that “Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) are shocked to hear that Roy Harper (guest star Colton Haynes) is back in Star City. However, when they discover the circumstances of Roy's return, Oliver and Thea realize that Roy is in trouble and jump in to save him.”

As of now, those circumstances are still unclear but the images released by The CW reveal that at some point, Roy finds himself tied up to a chair between a pair of cops. Could it have something to do with the fact that Roy pretended to be the Arrow to clear Oliver’s name before faking his own death and leaving Star City at the end of Season 3? Thing is, the fact that Roy is seen tied to that chair with zip ties instead of handcuffs in a hotel room and he’s obviously hurt is super suspicious. So it's highly likely they're not real cops.

What’s also interesting in the pics below is that Thea is seen suited up as Speedy once more following her retirement from the vigilante business (although she did put on the outfit again during the 2016 Invasion! crossover event but since then, Thea has pretty much remained “Speedy free”) and has clearly rescued Roy from those Star City "cops."

Last year, executive producer Wendy Mericle and former EP Marc Guggenheim teased that Roy’s short visit “turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences …” Could the spark on Thea’s part be that she’ll want to be back on Team Arrow fighting against the dastardly Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), recently revealed as the true villain of the season?

Arrow returns with “Collision Course” March 1 on The CW.
