Rumor of the Day: Is this actor making a surprise return in Days of Future Past?

There are a few actors who were born to play certain X-Men. This is one of those actors, and he might be, unexpectedly, back in Days of Future Past

Do you remember before there were X-Men movies and people would imagine their dream cast? Do you remember when everyone pretty much universally said Patrick Stewart would be the perfect Professor X, and then he actually was cast as Professor X? Good times.

There was one other example of that -- when noted psychiatrist, Seattle resident, and radio personality, Dr. Frasier Crane Kelsey Grammer was cast as Beast. Like Sir Patrick, whenever Hank McCoy came up, most people just assumed Grammer was the perfect actor to play the brilliant furry blue doc. And then he was cast!

But he was cast in The Last Stand, which is one of the worst superhero movies in recent memory.

So we wouldn't have blamed Grammer if he opted never to return to the role of Dr. McCoy. Happily, it seems that isn't the case.

The big rumor is that, post-production, Kelsey Grammer snuck onto the Fox lots (under the guise of some random project) to film a cameo appearance as Beast. Not only did he do it, according to the rumors, but he jumped at the opportunity.

We hope this rumor turns out to be true. Nicholas Hoult is a fine Hank, but, as we mentioned at the top, Grammer was kind of born to be Beast.
