Tom Hiddleston may go from comic-book villain to hero for Relativity's The Crow. The actor's in talks to star as Eric Draven for their upcoming reboot. He's the latest in a long line of stars who've been linked to the film. Prior to Hiddleston, Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Channing Tatum and James McAvoy were all rumored for the part.

The Crow is based on the James O'Barr comic that centers on a man who returns from the dead to avenge his death. It was famously adapted in 1994 and starred Brandon Lee as the title character. The film spawned several sequels (The Crow: City of Angels, The Crow: Salvation, The Crow: Wicked Prayer) plus a short-lived TV show called The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.

The new movie is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) from a script by Cliff Dorfman (Warrior). Sources say Hiddleston recently met with The Crow's producers and even sent them his own makeup test. Eric Draven's facepaint is an integral part of his image.

Apparently Hiddleston caught the producers' attention with "his ability to project both a light and dark side." Plus, he has tons of action experience thanks to Thor and The Avengers.

The Crow is scheduled to begin production this fall.

Would you accept Hiddleston as the Crow?
