The rumor mill continues to churn over who might play Lex Luthor in the Man of Steel sequel, but a new report indicates that one of those old names might’ve been right all along.
The hosts of the Team Amasian podcast claim they have confirmed that famed bald man Bryan Cranston will play classic Superman baddie Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman. Cranston was rumored for the role off and on for most of 2013, along with everyone from Bradley Cooper to Mark Strong.
So is it true? It’s certainly possible, though obviously unconfirmed. Cranston is a buzzy actor with some major cred from his stint on Breaking Bad, and he’s dabbled in big sci-fi flicks with projects like the Total Recall reboot. Heck, he also voiced Jim Gordon in the animated DC film Batman: Year One — so there’s a definite interest in the genre.
Though he comes from humble beginnings on Malcolm in the Middle, and his Total Recall role was less than memorable, we still think Cranston would be a great pick for Luthor. He was more than enough of a badass in Breaking Bad to prove he has the substance to go toe to toe with Superman, Batman and even some rival meth dealers.
