Ever since Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies, The Hobbit) nabbed the role of the big bad villain in Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, we’ve wondered which baddie the actor would be playing. And now we may have our answer.

According to a source over at JoBlo—so please keep in mind it's a rumor—the main villain in the movie will be an alien Kree warrior named Ronan the Accuser.

Ronan has been the enemy of the Fantastic Four, the Inhumans (another Marvel Studios project) and the Guardians of the Galaxy in comic-book lore.

As an Accuser, Ronan acts as an official of the Kree Empire, serving as officer of the law, judge and executioner. You know, a bit like Judge Dredd but more alien-ish.

However, the source doesn’t directly link Pace—who was also rumored for the role of the superpowered being called the Collector—to the role of Ronan. But since we know Pace is playing the main villain, the finger points at him being Ronan if this rumor turns out to be true.

There’s also an upside at Ronan the Accuser being the flick’s baddie: His presence would be ideal in the setting up of the famous Kree-Skrull war for Avengers 2.

What do you guys think? Do you believe the Guardians of the Galaxy will have to face off against Ronan the Accuser?
