While we thought casting on Batman v Superman was basically done, a Spanish website is now reporting that a certain British actress is up for a role in Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero flick.
The actress in question is none other than Emily Blunt.
(Before we go on, please, remember to take this with a grain of salt, as it is a rumor.)
So what’s the role the Edge of Tomorrow actress is up for? Well, we don’t know yet.
This is what El Multicine is saying (translation was done by soforizo for Comic Book Movie):
"The actress Emily Blunt will land on billboards worldwide with her film 'Edge of Tomorrow', in what appears to be a great science fiction role. Now her name returns to the orbit of comic adaptations with her possible incorporation in 'Batman Vs Superman', directed by Zack Snyder. A film that has been shooting since last month."
This would not be the first time Emily Blunt's name has been attached to a superhero flick. Before Scarlett Johansson made the kick-ass character of Black Widow her own — starting with Iron Man 2, then reprising it in The Avengers and, most recently, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier — Blunt had been Marvel’s top choice to play the black-leather-clad assassin, but she passed on the role.
She was also offered the role of Peggy Carter and passed on that one, too, with the part ultimately going to Hayley Atwell, who will star in her very own series, titled Agent Carter.
Blunt is currently busy building some serious sci-fi cred (she was in The Wolfman and The Adjustment Bureau) and will be seen kicking alien ass in Edge of Tomorrow, set to be released on June 6. The sci-fi flick is already garnering some great reviews, and so is Blunt as a badass soldier who’s training Tom Cruise’s character, teaching him how to harness his new alien abilities so that they can save humanity.
So, do you guys think it could be true? And if so, who do you think Emily Blunt could be playing in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?
