Rumor of the Day: Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger may have found its two leads

Production on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is set to kick off in New Orleans in February (on Valentine’s Day, no less), though we still don’t know who's been cast as the show's two leads.

However, two names have now come out of the woodwork as possibilities ...

The good folks at MCU Exchange report that a new source has reached out to them (so take this with a grain of salt until officially confirmed), claiming that Noah Gray-Cabey (Heroes, Heroes Reborn, Code Black) and Debby Ryan (Jessie, Sing It!) have been cast as Tyrone Johnson, aka Cloak, and Tandy Bowen, aka Dagger, on the upcoming YA Marvel series that will air on Freeform.

The site also says they've reached out to other sources and noticed that Gray-Cabey was recently followed on Twitter by showrunner Joe Pokaski (who apparently generally follows people he's either worked with -- Pokaski would have worked with Gray-Cabey on Heroes -- or Marvel folks) and that Ryan is now following the official Marvel Cloak & Dagger Twitter page.

Now, none of this proves that Gray-Cabey and Ryan have indeed been cast as the two superpowered (thanks to some forced experimentation on them) runaway teens who fall head over heels in love, but I agree that the coincidences are interesting, especially considering that the two young actors are the right age to play teenage characters (they are 21 and 23, respectively). And they do say to take this as a rumor, at least for now.

Do you guys think Noah Gray-Cabey and Debby Ryan would be perfect for the roles of Cloak and Dagger?
