We’ve been wondering how much Marvel will connect its slate of Netflix series to the cinematic universe, and a new rumor indicates one of the heavyweights could show up in Iron Fist.

Potential spoilers ahead for Marvel’s Iron Fist!

Bleeding Cool reports a source close to the production at Marvel who says Doctor Strange will make his debut in the upcoming Iron Fist series. In what capacity, exactly, remains a mystery. They’re unsure whether Benedict Cumberbatch, the Sorcerer Supreme himself, will show up — or whether they’ll use a stand-in actor for a small/shadowed role with Cumberbatch potentially providing voice work.

Take it with a grain of salt at this point, but hey, it makes sense these two characters could cross paths. Both fall into the more supernatural side of the Marvel spectrum, and it’d be a fun way to drop an easter egg or two in for fans watching the Netflix shows. Daredevil has already proven this slate has the potential to be a monster hit, and it’d be an obvious way to expand the world and plant some seeds.

Plus, thanks to Captain America: Winter Soldier, we already know Dr. Stephen Strange is kicking around out there somewhere. Makes sense he could pop up here.

What do you think of this rumor? Would you like to see Doctor Strange make an understated debut on Netflix before his big-screen premiere?
