Ever since word broke that Josh Trank would be rebooting The Fantastic Four, the rumor mill has been churning about who will play the new-look heroes. Well, it sounds like they’ve found the Human Torch.
Schmoes Know is reporting that Michael B. Jordan has signed on to play Johnny Storm in the upcoming superhero film. Jordan is a heck of an actor, and he previously worked with Trank on Chronicle — so, it does makes some sense. They claim to have a source close to Jordan’s representation who is confirming the news, and though it’s officially unconfirmed at this point — we really hope it’s true.
It at least goes along with the latest casting report, anyway.
Jordan’s turn in Chronicle was one of the highlights of the flick, and he has more than enough attitude and swagger to pull off the Human Torch. Of course, another interesting angle is that Jordan would be playing a traditionally white character — so Trank may be planning some tweaks to the team’s origin story. We’ll see.
Plus, if this casting news is true and they’re actually getting deals in place, it means we should have a lot more news coming soon. Fingers crossed.
Who would you like to see round out the rest of the cast?
