The folks at Marvel have made an art out of the post-credit stinger, and it sounds like the coda for Captain America: Winter Soldier could plant a major thread for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The folks at Lainey Gossip have apparently dug up a little scoop from a test screening of the film, and it sounds like the Captain America sequel will steal some thunder from the Avengers sequel and introduce Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, though we’re not sure if that means we’ll actually see them, or if they’ll just be mentioned.
According to the report, the duo are referred to as “The Twins,” and if they’re being teased in a post-credit stinger we’d think that means they’ll have pretty significant roles in Age of Ultron. Here’s the choice excerpt that sets up the tease:
“But the thing that’s probably going to leave people talking the most is the post-credits stinger. They’re calling them ‘The Twins’, the brother-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they don’t look like any Marvel heroes we’ve met to date.”
As he made very clear in The Avengers, Joss Whedon isn’t out to produce giant cameo-filled movies. So if he went to the trouble to cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House) as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, respectively, he must have a pretty good reason. It looks like we’ll have an inkling as to why a lot sooner than we thought.
The Captain America sequel is set to open April 4. Are you glad to hear we might get an early peek at the latest Avengers?
