The characters Cable and Domino from Deadpool 2 will reportedly be getting more screen time thanks to a fresh round of reshoots, because fans just can't get enough of the new additions.
There were rumblings that Deadpool 2 (or The Untitled Deadpool Sequel as IMDb is calling it) underwent reshoots because the first round of test screenings were not well received. But a new report from Collider says that’s the furthest thing from the truth. In fact, Collider’s editor-in-chief Steve Weintraub reports test screenings have actually gone quite well, and that audiences wanted more Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beets). So, apparently the studio did additional photography not to fix what was broken, but to add more of what was working.
“Both crowds in these screenings said they love Josh Brolin as Cable, they love Domino, but that they would like to see more of both characters in the movie,” explains Weintraub in the video. “Everyone loved both characters, they wanted to see more.”
Weintraub further explains the studio “did additional photography, where, guess what, they added…more Cable and they added more Domino. And so that’s the main thing about the additional photography. There was no train wreck.”
Weintraub said he’s getting this from “multiple sources.” Check out the video below.
If this is true, then we guess this means Brolin will have to lug around that heavy prop rifle of his for a few more days.
Representatives from 20th Century Fox did not respond to SYFY WIRE’s requests for comment as of this writing, but we'll update with any new information. In the meantime, is the Deadpool sequel in trouble, or is it on the path to becoming more awesome by getting more Cable and Domino? Feel free to speculate in the comments below.
Deadpool 2 arrives in theatres May 18 (that’s right, it’s been moved up).
