Looks like Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when the Marvel series returns for a fourth season in the fall!

According to Latino Review, sources have told them (so consider this a RUMOR until officially confirmed) that Ghost Rider’s official introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a done deal, but there’s a tiny catch … or two.

First off, the version of Ghost Rider we’ll get to see on the ABC comic book series won’t be the version everyone knows, Johnny Blaze. A few weeks back, TV Line reported that Season 4 was looking to cast “a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair.” This description actually first Robbie Reyes and his brother Gabe, who are featured in the reboot version of Ghost Rider in Marvel NOW!

In the comics, instead of being inhabited by the Spirit of Vengeance as Johnny Blaze was, Robbie Reyes gets bonded with a serial killer who performed magic rituals, imbuing him with slightly different but similar powers to the ones Johnny Blaze displayed. Oh, and instead of a motorcycle, the new Ghost Rider rides a muscle car. Sweet!

The second catch is that the site reports that since Ghost Rider may join the Secret Warriors, rumors of a Ghost Rider Netflix series are inaccurate. At least for now.

Filming on Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has officially begun, and with Marvel having a panel this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, expect some official news on that subject later today.
