The crew of Star Trek: Discovery likes to keep a tight ship when it comes to spoilers. But at a convention this weekend, Jonathan Frakes appears to have confirmed some pretty interesting details relating to a Spock appearance in Season 2.
Fresh off the news Tig Notaro has joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery, we've got some more details on Season 2. Until there's confirmation, we'll keep this to "Rumor of the Day" status but over the weekend Jonathan Frakes (who played Cmdr. William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation) attended the El Paso Comic Con Star Trek panel and dropped some details on Season 2. Frakes directed an episode of Season 1 of Discovery and according to Star Trek fan and podcaster Justin Oser's tweets from the panel, Frakes revealed he would be directing two episodes in the upcoming season which is shooting in Toronto and also a tiny bit of info regarding a certain appearance of a half-Vulcan, half-human we all know.
This isn't the first time Frakes has dropped a spoiler at a convention. Last year at a fan panel he revealed Discovery would be doing a Mirror Episode. And now it seems like he's revealed the answer to the burning question of whether or not the character of Spock would make an appearance on Discovery. However, knowing we'll see a young version of Spock in flashbacks might just lead to more questions.
What does this all mean for the direction of Season 2? What'll we see young Spock doing in flashbacks? And will Jonathan Frakes be allowed to continue to attend conventions?
