Rumor of the Day: Tony Stark has an armor squadron in Iron Man 3

We already know that Tony Stark will be seriously updating his tech for Iron Man 3 (and hey, it wouldn't really be an Iron Man flick if he stuck with the same old suit), but the changes could be much bigger than we thought. Rumor has it the threats Stark's up against in this flick are so great that he's set to call in a little extra air support. POSSIBLE SPOILERS!

And no, we're not just talking about War Machine, though we're sure Rhodey will be around to pitch in. Stark's already gone through quite a few incarnations of his armor in just three flicks. By the end of The Avengers he's up to Mark VII, but according to the crew over at Latino Review, that golden new armor we glimpsed at San Diego Comic-Con isn't Mark VIII. It's Mark XLVII.

If you're not adept at reading Roman numerals, or you just can't believe your eyes, we'll rephrase that for you: Mark 47. The 47th Iron Man suit.

If it's true, it means Tony Stark's been a busy man indeed since teaming up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but why 47? Why not just 10 or even 12? What could he possibly do with 40 more Iron Man suits?

Well, the rumor goes on to say that the Mark XLVII has the capability to control other Iron Man suits in flight. We know (finally) that the Mandarin is Iron Man's foe this time around, and his tricks could be so threatening that Stark can't do it alone, or with the aid of War Machine. It could be that he needs 40 Iron Men at his command.

Yeah, it sounds a little too much like the ending of Iron Man 2, so it's best to take this with a grain of salt, but even if Stark doesn't come out swinging with an Iron Man squadron, we know director Shane Black and company will definitely be rolling out something ambitious.

What do you think? Does it seem plausible?
