Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool hijacks the latest, extended trailer for Fantastic Four

We’re still waiting to hear some critical takes on Fantastic Four, but the studio has dropped an extended trailer to give us the best look yet at Josh Trank’s reboot. Oh, and it also includes a surprise Deadpool cameo (seriously).

First up, the Fantastic Four stuff: The 3+ minute trailer includes a mix of new and old footage, and gives us a decent feel for the narrative arc. We see a lot of the early stuff we’ve already glimpsed in other trailers, along with some footage that (seemingly) comes from the middle and later acts of the film. We still don't know a ton about the plot, especially how Doctor Doom fits into the whole thing. But we’re happy to say the footage here does look good. So, fingers crossed?

Moving on to Deadpool: The trailer ends with a hijacking cut-in from Deadpool, who tries to add a bit more buzz to the troubled production. If you do take a chance on seeing Fantastic Four this weekend, you will get to see Deadpool’s first trailer (debuting today) on the big screen. It’s admittedly a bit strange to have Deadpool pop into the Fantastic Four trailer, but you have to remember they’re both part of 20th Century Fox’s Marvel deal. Plus, it actually fits the character’s fourth-wall-breaking style. So, well played.
