Ryan Reynolds not only loves to pull off a good prank, but he also rewards those that do the same.
When the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame was released, fans that went to avengersendgame.com rather than Marvel’s official site were probably very confused. Twitter user @GuyInChair had already bought the domain name and decided to have some fun with it. If you accessed the site, it would redirect you to the official website for Once Upon a Deadpool. GuyInChair is currently holding the domain (along with avengersendgamemovie.com) for “ransom” in exchange for two tickets to the movie premiere next year (Not that bad of a request. It’s not like they asked for travel, too).
The prank did not go unnoticed by the Merc with a Mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds. GuyInChair posted the following tweet with a gift he received from Reynolds’ Gin company, Aviation.
The case looks like something a Tesseract would fit inside and contained a pair of Master & Dynamic headphones and an Aviation travel cocktail kit. Reynolds then followed up with a tweet of his own, not “encouraging him in any way.”
Still not willing to give up, both sites now route to a Cameo video of Santa Claus shouting out to Kevin Feige with the “ransom demands.”
In a time where being on the internet can be full of negativity, its full-on silliness like this that makes you realize it’s not so bad after all.
