We know that when you think Ryan Reynolds, you think Green Lantern. But don't forget about that other comics character we all hope Reynolds will get to embody on the big screen—the Marvel Comics mercenary known as Deadpool.

If you're thinking that wearing the emerald warrior's power ring has squeezed Deadpool out of his mind, Empire snagged an interview with the actor that reveals the project's not dead yet:

"Deadpool's still in the works. ... I'm not sure how logistically it works in terms of scheduling, but yeah, I want it to happen."

Reynolds also discussed the differences between the DC hero and the Marvel antihero:

"Those two universes are completely different. ... Superhero movies are so pervasive in pop culture, I don't look at them as superhero roles as much as just roles. They're such different people. Deadpool is about a guy in a highly militarised shame spiral, Green Lantern is more universally themed."

Assuming Green Lantern is a hit—which we DO assume it will be—Reynolds will have demonstrated the box-office appeal that will make a Deadpool film more possible. On the other hand, the success of Green Lantern would also set the ball rolling on Green Lantern 2, which might also keep Reynolds too busy to have time for Deadpool.

In any case, it's good too know Reynolds hasn't forgotten about Deadpool—because we sure haven't!
