Samuel L. Jackson reveals his favorite Avenger (aside from himself)

It looks as though Samuel L. Jackson, aka the MCU's super spy Nick Fury, has finally revealed his favorite member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. You know, besides himself, of course.

In a fun Q&A video courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson plays “Fishing For Answers,” which is exactly what it sounds like — he pulls prewritten questions out of the fishbowl and answers them. After answering such questions as his favorite movie theatre snack (big box of butter popcorn and white cherry slushie), who’s harder to keep in line, Captain Marvel or Spider-Man (“I’d have to say, Spider-Man [played by Tom Holland]. He’s a little more energetic and he’s kind of all over the place. But I like him. Great kid.”) and what his favorite line from Pulp Fiction is (“Do they speak English in ‘What?’”), the last question he fishes out of the bowl is: “Who is your favorite Avenger and why?”

And his answer? “Nick Fury. ‘Cuz he’s me.” Well, we all were expecting that, weren’t we?

Okay, fine. He then offers his real answer into the fishbowl: “Actually, it’s Black Widow.”

Check out the video below (the Avengers question is the last one).

The video was released in tandem with THR’s new profile piece on the actor, who’s set to appear not just as a younger Nick Fury (still with both eyes) in Captain Marvel in March but as the eponymous Mr. Glass in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass later this month (and perhaps as an older, resurrected Fury in Avengers: Endgame in April). He’s also set to appear as Fury yet again in Spider-Man: Far From Home this summer.

The 70-year-old Jackson, who first played Fury in Iron Man in 2008, told THR that he’s far from done playing the role, admitting that he would "happily play the part into his 80s."

Glass hits theaters January 18, while Captain Marvel opens March 8.
