After a second season filled with character development and character decomposition, Netflix’s sunny zombie show Santa Clarita Diet ended its run with plenty of new blood.
An ancient order tasked with saving the world from the undead showed up, married couple Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) got closer to discovering the source of Sheila’s transformation into the living dead, and the latter managed to convince a religious cop that she was the second coming.
Yeah, a lot went down in this crazy comedy.
And now there’s certainly going to be more. Netflix announced today that Santa Clarita Diet will return in 2019 with a 10-episode third season. In fact, the team even made this silly little video about it:
Until we get more, more, more, there’ll be a plethora of zombie content in between now and the third season’s release — including The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and the Martin Freeman film Cargo. Sadly, none seem nearly as funny as what Barrymore and Olyphant are putting together.
