It’s become a major part of sci-fi world-building to create a new currency, but how the heck do those fictional dollars convert into good ol’ American cash?

Luckily for all of us, the folks at Money in Advance have created the Intergalactic Exchange Bureau to make sense of it all. Planning a trip to the Twelve Colonies, or perhaps the United Federation of Planets? You’re in luck, because your U.S. dollars should convert pretty well.

But you might be in trouble if you’re planning a mission into George R.R. Martin’s world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Your $20 might not convert as well as a Silver Stag.

The team has done a great job of pulling in a lot of obscure currencies, with everything from Red Dwarf to Discworld making an appearance.
