Back in June of 2016 we heard that a big screen verison of the beloved manga Lone Wolf and Cub was destined for American feature film stardom from Ghost in the Shell producer Steven Paul.

Screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en, Sleepy Hollow) has now signed on to the long-gestating project to pen the influential samurai fable for a big-budget Hollywood treatment, with Justin Lin (Fast and Furious, Star Trek Beyond) attached as producer alongside Marissa McMahon and Kamala Films for Paramount.

Written by Koike Kazuo with detailed artwork by Goseki Kojima, this Japanese samurai favorite about a legendary wandering swordsman named Itto Ogami and his young son was published from 1970-1976 and has been transformed into a half-dozen foreign-language movies and compiled in 28 collected volumes by Dark Horse Comics.

Are you confident Walker can craft a competent script to capture the majesty and historical accuracy of the Lone Wolf and Cub samurai assassin saga?
