Sean Bean is going to die in his new video game appearance. That’s not because he’s famously died in all sorts of things, ranging from Game of Thrones to The Lord of the Rings to GoldenEye, but because that’s the sole purpose of the game. He’s appearing in Hitman 2 as the first of a series of Elusive Targets, limited time jobs for Agent 47 to kill his way through.
And the Hitman series knows what it’s getting itself into, implementing Bean’s reputation into his in-game character through a clever marketing video that comments on his ability to cheat death.
Take a look:
The campaign, which will see Bean’s ex-MI5 killer Mark Faba head to Miami, also includes a voting portion where gamers can select which new weapon they’d like to see in the coming weeks: headphones, a toy robot, or a pen.
Faba demonstrates how all these could become deadly in his expert hands in the teaser, showing off a skillset that boasts evading the Grim Reaper as only one of its many perks. Known as “The Undying,” Faba will be one of the more difficult targets the protagonist assassin has tackled yet — but no word if you’ll be using Uruk-hai arrows to bring him down.
Players will get a chance to add to Bean’s career deathcount for the 10 days following Nov. 20, a week after Hitman 2 hits stores on Nov. 13.
