The CW is looking to beef up its schedule, and believe it or not, we're not talking about a new DC Comics series.
Variety reports the network has placed a pilot order for the mystery adventure series Searchers, which follows "a pragmatic brother and free-spirited sister" who are forced to team up when they learn that their mother's terrifying and bizarre stories may be a road map to discovering the great legends, myths and unexplainable mysteries of the world.
The series is being developed by Jason Rothenberg (The 100), Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Flash) and Sarah Schechter. The show was created by Rothenberg.
The premise is admittedly vague, but it comes from a strong creative team and sounds like it could hit the sweet spot between genre-related and angst. The network has been keen to stay in business with both Rothenberg and Berlanti, so it stands to reason that Searchers stands an excellent chance of making it to air next season.
What do you think of the pitch? Would you check this one out?
