The CW’s Flash has managed to build one of the most ambitious superhero universes ever conceived, all on the shoestring of a mid-tier TV budget. So how have they brought some of those epic sci-fi set pieces to life?
Ahead of the show’s Oct. 6 return, the network has dropped a new featurette with interviews from the crew and some behind-the-scenes shots from some of the coolest scenes of the first season. From Grodd to that time-traveling fight with Reverse-Flash (and all those twisty camera angles), we get peeks at all of them. They say they’re aiming for a “live comic book” look for the overal style, and it’s hard to argue they haven't nailed it.
Along with those tidbits, they also break down how they’ve created a fully CGI take on Central City (and the Flash himself) and how all those components work to create some of the show’s more iconic shots. Oh, and did we mention the clip offers up some fresh footage from new meta-human baddie the Atom Smasher?
