Shaun of the Dead's Simon Pegg and Nick Frost making new horror comedy

The Shaun of the Dead guys are getting together for a new movie? We're there.

According to CinemaBlend, actors/writers/comedians Simon Pegg (seen most recently as Scotty in the Star Trek films) and Nick Frost (who's been starring in Season 2 of AMC's Into the Badlands) are teaming up for a new film called Slaughterhouse Rulez.

The story is said to focus on a prep school that falls into hell itself when a local fracking site causes a "mysterious sinkhole" to open up. With a title like Slaughterhouse Rulez, I imagine you can expect hell to unleash all kinds of gruesome mayhem on the students and faculty of the doomed school.

Pegg and Frost are writing the movie, as they did on their 2011 sci-fi spoof Paul, and direction will be handled by Crispian Mills, who previously collaborated with Pegg on A Fantastic Fear of Everything.

Pegg and Frost are best known for starring together onscreen in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, comprised of Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007) and The World's End (2013). All three were directed by Edgar Wright and co-written by Wright and Pegg. Shaun of the Dead became and remains a classic example of how to blend horror and comedy just about perfectly, so here's hoping that Pegg and Frost can recapture that magic with their new film.

No release date or additional cast has been unveiled yet. Are you looking forward to seeing Pegg and Frost get back into the horror-comedy game again?
