To promote its upcoming animated She-Ra series on Netflix, DreamWorks Animation has unveiled a virtual reality experience that introduces viewers to the various characters in the show. The experience can be viewed on a computer through the official site or, if you're feeling more futuristic, on a VR-compatible device.
So far, you can learn about Princess Adora (Aimee Carrero), Glimmer (Karen Fukuhara), Bow (Marcus Scribner), and Catra (AJ Michalka), but as the show's November release inches ever closer, more and more characters will be made available. For example, She-Ra's winged unicorn, Swift Wind, becomes unlocked Nov. 13.
Developed by Noelle Stevenson, the series takes place in a mystical land split between the evil Horde and the kingdom of Bright Moon. Raised by the Horde all of her life to be a deadly fighter, Adora believes that she is doing the right thing, attempting to crush the rebels.
After discovering a magical sword that turns her into a powerful princess, however, Adora switches sides, teaming up with Glimmer and Bow, much to the dismay of the Horde. With the help of her new friends, and a host of other princesses, Adora may just have a chance of defeating evil.
During an appearance at New York Comic Con, Aimee Carrero described the show as "a story of redemption."
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power arrives on Netflix Nov. 16. The VR experience can be downloaded for a number of compatible devices like the Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard, PlayStation VR, and more.
