As Ellen Ripley, Sigourney Weaver has saved humanity again and again from the Xenomorphs in four Alien movies starting with Ridley Scott’s Alien in 1979 and ending with Alien: Resurrection in 1997.
Weaver was supposed to reprise the iconic role of Ripley for the fifth time alongside Aliens’ Michael Biehn's Corporal Hicks in Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5, but that movie’s been put on ice indefinitely.
With Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel Alien: Covenant slated for release on May 19 and more sequels planned, it’s unclear whether Sigourney Weaver will return for any of the new films, but at least we have this awesome “cameo appearance” to sink our teeth into.
Released during Friday night’s installment of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the “clip” sees Weaver reprising the role of humanity's savior
Sarah Connor Ellen Ripley and facing off against her greatest threat yet: Randy (Colbert) from Weyland-Yutani’s Medical Bay. Check it out and chime in with your thoughts below:
