In the latest trailer for the horror-comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez, the headmaster (Michael Sheen) of Slaughterhouse School, a prestigious British boarding school with one of the best-worst names ever, tells an instructor (Simon Pegg) that he “cannot have pupils wandering about in the middle of the night,” then laments: “These things always end up in a bloody mess.”
Clearly, Sheen isn’t wrong. As one student remarks (as we hear inhuman growling noises): “There’s something in the woods.” Perhaps this has something to do with the sinkhole that recently appeared near school grounds?
Check out the trailer below:
In Slaughterhouse Rulez, the students and faculty at (again, the awesomely named) Slaughterhouse School are being hunted down by horrific monsters that have emerged from a giant and seemingly bottomless sinkhole that has opened in the woods near campus. As Nick Frost’s drug-dealing character notes, the sinkhole “leads straight. Down. To hell,” before enthusiastically asking: “Now. Who wants to buy some drugs?”
Slaughterhouse Rulez reunites Pegg and Frost, who are no strangers to comedic deconstructions of genre films (see: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World’s End). Crispian Mills (A Fantastic Fear of Everything) is at the helm this time around instead of Pegg’s and Frost’s friend and frequent collaborator Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
Slaughterhouse Rulez opens in theaters in the U.K. on Oct. 31. Delicious.
