The marketing machine for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is ramping up, but apparently one character poster was a bit too risque to make it past the MPAA’s censors.

The poster in question features the lovely Eva Green (300: Rise of an Empire), who will play the femme fatale Ava Lord in the upcoming sequel, based on Frank Miller’s comic of the same name. According to Page Six, the poster below was apparently rejected for “nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.”

We’d have to agree that, yes, it is a bit revealing — but not much more or less than most other posters out there nowadays. Regardless, this should do wonders for generating some buzz about the flick as it heads toward its Aug. 22 opening date.

What do you think? Does it show off a bit too much?
