Slice: First trailer for A24's wild, 80s-style horror-comedy with Deadpool 2's Zazie Beetz

What has Slice been doing sitting stagnant for so long? The Chance the Rapper horror-comedy vehicle was nabbed by genre-rific distributor A24 two years ago and is only now getting its first trailer. There’ve been nondescript posters, only really bridging the wordplay gap between pizza and werewolf versions of “slice,” so it’s actually exciting to see that this is a real movie — one apparently also starring Steve from Stranger Things and Deadpool 2’s Zazie Beetz (aka Domino).

Yes, a pizza delivery boy has been murdered, and the town (which apparently knows one of its members is a werewolf) is on the case. That includes Joe Keery, Beetz, Hannibal Buress, and loads of nostalgic ‘80s horror effects.

Take a look with your bulging eyeballs:

Paul Scheer and Will Brill also accompany Chance in this supernatural world, looking to solve crimes, stay alive, and shout along to the outrageous gore with fans everywhere. It makes you wonder why this project has stayed on the shelf so long, because it certainly looks like an original spin on the genre (with a cast that's only gotten more famous in the past few years).

But honestly, you could’ve just said “Werewolf pizza boy” and I’d have been sold. Wait — is this just stealth Monster Squad?

Slice hits theaters this fall.
