The fourth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead is already looking to beef up the cast considerably, but it sounds like there’ll be even more new faces showing up this fall.
We already knew that season four will promote three recurring characters to series regulars, while also adding Lawrence Gilliard Jr. as a former Army medic, but now a report has surfaced saying that three more new characters will also be showing up.
The folks at TV Line broke the story, and here’s an excerpt:
“The show could just as easily wind up being too busy with new recurring characters like Laura, a single mom and ex-nurse who isn’t quite as strong as she first appears; Melody, a ‘just one of the guys’ kinda gal in her 20s; and Don, who sounds like Hershel, if Hershel were crankier and two-legged.”
So add three more new characters to the mix, and odds are they'll likely be a part of Rick and company's prison gang of Woodbury castoffs.
Season three was a major game-changer, setting up the prison (and Governor) as components that will be sticking around for a while. It’ll be interesting to see how the writers keep those storylines alive in a compelling way.
Do you like the direction the series seems to be taking with season four, or were you hoping the prison arc would wrap up last season?
