So, will Suicide Squad's Joker really have those tattoos?

The Joker is a perfectly weird counterpoint to the serious Dark Knight. With humor that is designed to incense and provoke, he tends to have the last laugh, and the joke is on Batman. We know from the newly released image that Jared Leto plans to play him in the upcoming Suicide Squad as in-your-face as he can get while remaining on a screen. Except ...

Except the image looks like it could be merely a promotional still for the Joker's 75th annivesary, and not representative of how he'll look in the film. According to NerdReactor, the Joker may actually be plain-faced, yet pallid.

The evidence: In the picture below, set photos show that the Joker has no tattoos. And while most of the tattoos in the official image can be covered by the Joker's outerwear, the one on his face (a dagger? a teardrop?) would still have remained.

Perhaps Leto's pale face may only be a palate for future digital effects, but it's unlikely, given that the Joker's power is crazy mania and not a Rorschach shifting-inkblot face.

Heath Ledger's Joker was maniacal yet introspective. From the image, Leto's version seems like he's barely keeping his psychosis in check. What do you think of the pale-faced, less XXXtreme version of Leto's Joker? Let us know in the comments.
