Super Bowl Sunday is a time for the biggest football game of the year. It's also a time for various movie studios and TV networks to compete for the most intriguing teasers and trailers aired during the commercial breaks. Hulu might not have the biggest spot of the year, but with Castle Rock they may take the title of Most Mysterious.

The big game doesn't happen for another three days, but the streaming company has already released the 30-second teaser it plans to air for the upcoming Stephen King-inspired series from J.J. Abrams. Like everything else we've seen and heard about the series so far, it doesn't give us much in the way of plot, but it does offer plenty of memorable images.

Check out the spot below:

The footage begins with Henry Deaver (Andre Holland) returning home to Castle Rock because he got a call from Shawshank, meaning the iconic prison from King's story "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" (later adapted as The Shawshank Redemption). From there, we see Deaver face to face with a still-mysterious inmate played by Bill Skarsgard, and then the trailer pivots to a variety of creepy images. Children in strange masks, a killer rushing the camera with a hammer in hand, and finally the character of Ruth Deaver (Sissy Spacek) assuring us that something terrible isn't coming. It's already here. Here's Hulu's official synopsis:

"A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The series stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Billy Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn."

Developed by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason (Manhattan), Castle Rock is set to arrive on Hulu this summer.
