The surprise hit Venom may be adding a few companions to Sony’s Marvel-adjacent universe fairly soon if a recent announcement is to be understood. According to Variety, the studio revealed that two upcoming dates would feature the releases of superhero movies in the Spider-Man universe.
The first is planning to hit theaters on July 10, 2020, which would likely be the Jared Leto-starring Morbius film, while the second will be Oct. 2 and almost certainly be the sequel to Tom Hardy’s Venom.
While Morbius may have just begun production -- if Leto’s shaving schedule is to be believed -- it’ll be a long while until fans can find out the next chapter of Eddie Brock and his symbiotic frenemy.
More news is forthcoming, but now Sony has entered the franchise prestige level where the company is mysteriously announcing far-off dates without needing to give fans any additional information to generate hype. And despite our best efforts, we’re hyped.
