The political news is overwhelming right now, and you don’t even want to check out the news sites you used to go to. You can’t really head over to the mall, because you’re going to be attacked with perfume samples and covered in the glitter floating through the air from the Christmas decorations. Plus, that crazy lady who really, really wants that pooping unicorn toy for her kid is out for blood. Lady, they’re sold out already! Sheesh! Anyway, let the video game news of the week soothe your battered soul.

We’ve got all sorts of trailers for you to watch, and soon enough it will be 2019. You’ll be getting out your frustrations by treasure hunting with Lara Croft and swinging through the city in some Spider-Man DLC. Here is the Gamegrrl news for the week ending December 15.

Monster Hunter: World is one of our favorite games of the year, and this week Capcom announced a huge expansion for the game called Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. We’re getting new quests, gear, moves, and, of course, brand-new monsters! You can check out the teaser trailer above. The story takes place after the events of Monster Hunter: World, and from what we’ve seen in the teaser, is across the sea on a new piece of land. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is going to be available in the fall of 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We don’t have final details for PC quite yet, but it’s on the way! Apparently, we’re getting more info in the spring, so take a deep breath and keep killing those monsters. Don’t forget: We’re also getting a feature film based on the game starring Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa!

Square Enix has released a brand-new gameplay trailer for Left Alive. Here is the info for you: “Every inch of Novo Slava is a dangerous war zone, can you survive? Watch the new trailer to get a glimpse of the many ways you can forge a path to salvation in Left Alive.” You can pre-order the Mech Edition exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store in what they’re calling “very limited quantities." The Day One Edition is now available for pre-purchase on PlayStationStore and Steam. The game comes to us from veteran developers Toshifumi Nabeshima, Yoji Shinkawa, and Takayuki Yanase. Left Alive is heading to PlayStation 4 and Steam on March 5, 2019.

A while back we previewed the Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC The Forge, and we absolutely loved it. This week Square Enix/Eidos Montreal announced the newest DLC that is on the way for the game (another year’s favorite) called The Pillar. Check out the new video which shows the work that goes into making the new DLC. Here is the info for you: “Brave the storm. Venture into the Path of the Huracan on December 18th to discover the truth behind the legend of the Maya apocalypse." Unlock The Pillar with the Season Pass hereThe Pillar will have new side missions, more customization possibilities, unique outfits, weapons, and skills. The Pillar will be available December 18th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Web-slingers, listen up! This week Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Marvel’s Spider-Man DLC called Silver Lining. Here is all the info for you. “In the tension-filled finale to Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps, the web-slinger must rely on unlikely allies to protect the city from calamity.” Silver Sable is heading back to Sable International, which was stolen from her. She’s not happy about anything right now, and she’s pretty upset with Spider-Man for letting it happen. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining will be available for download on PS4 on December 21, 2018, so we don’t have long to wait.

World War Z is on the way, and we have a new gameplay trailer from Epic Games that shows us classes. This four-player cooperative third-person shooter features massive swarms of zombies that rush their living prey. It’s based on the 2006 novel by Max Brooks, which spawned a film starring Brad Pitt. By the way, if you haven’t listened to the award-winning audiobook, it’s amazing. Mark Hamill does one of the voices. World War Z is coming in 2019 to PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games store.

So, what game news are you most excited about this week? Let us know in the comments.
