In images posted by Brazillian pop culture outlet Omelete, we see a black suit, known officially as the "Stealth Suit," that will make its debut in the upcoming sequel. The costume was reportedly on display at CCXP, the Brazillian Comic Con in São Paulo.
As you can see in the images below, the costume bears a striking resemblance to the one worn by Spider-Man Noir, an alternate version of Peter Parker, who fights crime in '30s-era New York. Unlike the red and blue Spidey we all know and love, Spider-Man Noir wears a black mask, black boots, a black trench coat, and goggles. He also carries dual pistols, making him more aligned with the likes of gumshoes like Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe.
There's no trench coat or pistols (at least that we can see), but the goggles and aesthetic look to be on the money.
Spider-Man Noir makes his big screen debut in Into the Spider-Verse (out Dec. 14), where he's voiced by National Treasure's Nicolas Cage. To get the hard-boiled nature of the character across, Cage based his voice performance on hard-boiled and gangster icons like Humphrey Bogart (The Maltese Falcon) and James Cagney (The Public Enemy).
Directed by the returning Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in theaters July 5, 2019. The follow-up to Homecoming finds Peter on vacation in Italy with his friends, when he must stop a new villain, Mysterio (played by Jake Gyllenhaal).
