Sony Pictures has released the official cast list for Spider-Man: Homecoming, revealing the return of an Iron Man character, the casting of a former Hulk star and more!
First things first: Gwyneth Paltrow has been confirmed to reprise the role of Pepper Potts, who has been MIA since 2013’s Iron Man 3. But that’s not all.
Jennifer Connelly — who played the role of Betty Ross in Ang Lee’s Hulk (the 2003 movie that is NOT part of the MCU, unlike The Incredible Hulk) — will be playing a character named “Karen/Suit Lady,” who is apparently the voice of the A.I. in Peter Parker’s new Stark Industries Spidey suit. Fun Fact: Connelly is married to Paul Bettany, who provided the voice of Tony’s A.I., JARVIS, before playing Vision.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will also feature two Shockers. While Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) has already been confirmed in the role of Herman Schultz, Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) will be playing the Jackson Brice version.
Since we’re talking villains, the cast list also revealed that Donald Glover (Community, Atlanta) will be playing potential Marvel villain Aaron Davis (who also happens to be Miles Morales’ uncle!), aka the Prowler; and that Michael Mando (Orphan Black) will be playing Mac Gargan, aka the Scorpion.
In other interesting news, Garcelle Beauvais (Flight) is listed as Doris Toomes, the wife or ex-wife of Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), Homecoming's main villain, the Vulture. This in turn may confirm a recent rumor that Zendaya is actually playing Michele Toomes, the Vulture’s daughter. Angourie Rice will be playing Betty Brant, while Stan "The Man" Lee will return for a new cameo as Gary. Check out the full cast list below, and let us know what you think!
Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7.
