John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein had a huge hit this summer as the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now the pair are developing a new sci-fi TV series for Fox called Proxy.
According to Variety, "the project is centered on a technology that allows online followers to live voyeuristically through the experiences of hedonistic young 'Proxies' on a remote island paradise." Daley wrote the pilot and will produce with Goldstein executive-producing. He will also join the writing staff, should the pilot get picked up.
The pair have a long history in comedy, having written and directed Vacation starring Ed Helms in 2015. They also wrote Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. This will be their first sci-fi project together. Though Proxy is described as a drama, judging from their past experience, and considering Homecoming is probably the funniest Marvel movie to date, don't be surprised if there are some chuckle-worthy moments.
