Are Black Cat and the Spider Slayers all set to appear in an upcoming Spider-Man flick? According to Amazing Spider-Man 2 producers, the answer is a resounding YEP.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Amazing Spider-Man 2 producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad — who are also working on Amazing Spider-Man 3, Venom and the Sinister Six films — have confirmed that wheels have been put in motion to have Spider Slayers and Black Cat join the cinematic Spider-Man universe.

Though it’s awesome to have some sort of official confirmation, the news is not THAT surprising since we already knew that the character of Felicity Hardy (Felicity Jones), aka Black Cat in the comics, would briefly appear in Spider-Man 2.

There’s also another brief appearance from B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe. Director Marc Webb had apparently revealed the role back in February. In the comics, Smythe is the son of Spencer Smythe. Spencer Smythe creates the Spider Slayers, and Alistair ultimately turns himself in the Ultimate Spider-Slayer.

When asked if the viewers should read anything into the fact that they’ve already planted the seeds for Black Cat and the Spider Slayers in the next Spidey flick, Arad said: "Definitely. Everything you see that makes you think about the comics, I think you should read into it."

Matt Tolmach then added that "there are no accidents," with Arad then saying that "when they'll be implemented, that's food for thought."

Whether or not Black Cat and the Spider Slayers are set to appear in Amazing Spidey 3 or in any of the other planned spinoffs remains to be seen.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will spin its web into theaters on May 2.
