In all the confusion about Spider-Man 4, we haven't heard much from the franchise's star, Tobey Maguire. That is, until now.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Maguire downplays suggestions of script problems, possible delays and even speculation that the project could be dumped altogether:

"Like anything, it's a process," Maguire said Thursday. "We're just in the midst of the process. We have a lot of great stuff in terms of story and script. We're just trying to dial it in and get it ready as quickly as possible. Of course, these movies are a very big undertaking and take a lot more time than a drama or something more straightforward."

Maguire also says he expects the film to come out in 2011 as planned, though Paramount/Marvel's Thor has already jumped on Spidey 4's original release date.
