Ahead of the show’s debut next month, Spike has released a batch of eerie new pics (all in glorious HD) from their upcoming Stephen King TV series The Mist.

The 10-episode series from Danish creator and showrunner Christian Torpe (Rita) will focus on two main groups, one that will be stuck in a church and the other at a mall. (Now, THAT’s the place to be stuck in in case of impending apocalypse of any kind, IMHO. Although, to be fair, things didn't work too well for the good folks in Dawn of the Dead ... ) The plethora of images below offers a look at the many characters fighting for their very survival when a mysterious mist (with monsters in tow) rolls into town.

Based on the Stephen King novella published back in 1980, Spike’s The Mist stars Darren Pettie, Frances Conroy, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Morgan Spector, Okezie Morro and former Vikings alum Alyssa Sutherland.

Spike’s The Mist centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout, an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other. Family, friends, and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.

The Mist will premiere on June 22 at 10 p.m. on Spike. Will you be tuning in?
