With Amazon preparing to launch a new series based on The Tick, New England Comics is prepping a brand-new comic series based on the fan-favorite superhero.

The new series will be co-written by Cullen Bunn (X-Men Gold) and Jimmy Z Johnston, with art by Douglas Paszkiewicz (Arsenic Lullaby). The comic is set to launch this summer, and looks to tell some classic Tick stories, with Arthur and The Tick facing off against all kinds of zaniness.

Here’s the official solicitation:

The Tick #1 Written by Cullen Bunn & Jimmy Z Johnston, Art & Cvr by Douglas Paszkiewicz, Variant cvr by Douglas Paszkiewicz

Amazon is bringing The Tick back to TV this summer! And NEC is bringing The Tick back to comics in August with an all-new continuing color series! Written by Cullen Bunn (DEADPOOL KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, X-MEN BLUE, & HARROW COUNTY) and drawn by Douglas (Arsenic Lullaby) Paszkiewicz. The Tick and Arthur confront the dire menaces of ninjas and murder clowns, while also flashing back to blasts from The Tick’s here-to-for unexplored past! Join us for fun as Bunn imprints The Tick with his own creative style of story-telling! 32pg, FC, $3.99

It looks like the comic run should arrive around the same time as Amazon’s live-action series, which drops August 25.
